DAHLIA SLEEPS SETTLE DOWN

If you’ve come across the London band Dahlia Sleeps on TMR before, you’ll most likely recall the melancholic indie-pop of their previous releases ‘Storm’ and ‘Hessian’ - in many ways that style became synonymous with the sonorously named Dahlia Sleeps. Many bands wouldn’t dream of diverting from a tried-and-true style, but DS have taken the advancing step into the brighter, upbeat realm of synth-pop speckled with melodic rock in their newest single ‘Settle Down’. It’s a move reflective of acts like So Below or The 1975, and my word, is sure has worked for the quartet as we can both hear and see in the accompanying studio session video. The band are alive with the vigour and emotional intensity of their new approach, and it’s making us eager to hear their next collective work, Love, Lost EP (due out on December 3rd via Beatnik Collective.) Also if you happen to be around London on October 19th, be sure to catch this highly promising act over at Omeara. - Hannah Thacker
